BMT Facilitate Workshop for Curtin University Students

Curtin universityBMT Oceanica recently organised, and facilitated, an advanced environmental statistics workshop at Curtin University for a group of third year Marine Science students. The students were lectured in the art of advanced experimental design and in the development of robust, but cost-effective, marine environmental monitoring programs. They particularly enjoyed hearing from industry professionals, as it gave them a practical insight into the use of applied statistics in the workforce. The lectures were given by BMT Oceanica’s Dr Glenn Shiell and Dr Tara Meegan.

Curtin university 2The workshop is an annual event run as part of an objective to foster collaboration between BMT and local universities. BMT Oceanica have a number of staff with adjunct lecturing positions at local universities, where they are regularly invited to give lectures, workshops and tutorials.
