Offshore facilities monitoring
Our long history of marine water and sediment quality monitoring expertise, together with our oil and gas industry experience, our industry accredited and proven HSEQ systems and our strong relationships with offshore marine providers means that we have the knowledge and understanding to lead and deliver offshore surveys.
Our team has experience in the design and interpretation of water and sediment surveys related to the potential impacts of marine discharges and drilling (including PFW, treated wastewater, brine, cooling water, bitterns, drill cuttings and synthetic based mud). Our services are complemented by an expert understanding of environmental quality guidelines, environmental standards and guideline trigger values.
In addition, our links with BMT Cordah, mean we have direct access to decades of expertise in PFW modelling, drill cuttings modelling and oil spill modelling. For PFW and cuttings discharge modelling, BMT Cordah uses either the BMT PROTEUS (Pollution Risk Offshore Technical Evaluation System) or the SINTEF DREAM (Dose-related Risk and Effects Assessment Model) models depending on the nature of the problem. For oil spill modelling, BMT Cordah uses either BMT’s Oil Spill Information System (OSIS) or SINTEF’s Oil Spill Contingency and Response (OSCAR) models, with the most suitable model selected depending on the required input for Oil Pollution Emergency Plans (OPEPs) and Environment Plans (EPs). All models are recognised as acceptable by the UK regulator.
We have successfully delivered offshore surveys for the following Western Australian oil and gas clients:
- Apache Energy Limited
- Chevron Australia
- Woodside Energy Limited
